The Big Give Christmas Challenge 2021

We were delighted to take part in The Big Give Christmas Challenge  30th November- 7th December.

It was the fourth year we have joined in with the match-funding campaign. Yet again, thanks to everyone’s generosity we exceeded our fundraising target of £15,000 and raised a total of £18,199.11.

We’ve been releasing potential through teacher training & mentoring for the last 9 years. In 2022 we will be building on our partnerships with the Ministry of General Education and other key educational organisations to deliver literacy training across Zambia.

A huge thank you to everyone who gave to this fantastic campaign helping us to deliver much needed literacy training in Zambia.

Throughout the rest of December and in January the team will train 1,500 Grade 3 teachers across the Copperbelt Province which will impact over 60,000 children, enabling them to read and write with greater fluency so they can step further into the potential God has for them.

Here are a couple of testimonies from previous

Alfred Mwaba, Head Teacher for Masamba Primary School, sent us this message:
“I just want to appreciate the programme of Jolly Phonics. It has added value to the school’s literacy levels. For example, a Grade 3 pupil performed very well during a spelling competition with Grade 7 pupils this year. She surpassed most of them and she was able to get most of the spellings right. This amused the big boys and girls. We have admonished the other teachers, as a school, to use the Jolly Phonics methodology of teaching literacy and it is working very well. Kindly continue with this programme, even in other schools.”

And Emily Stonier, a School Coordinator in Siavonga writes, “Raving reports from the three teachers I have spoken to! Can’t wait for more workshops. Consillia is so motivated and inspired and excited to teach the little ones phonics in this creative way. Thanks so much for this opportunity. Your organisation is doing amazing things!
